The Mini Cooper S isn’t just about being practical, its about being a fast and fun car to drive. The fuel crisis of 1959 created the Mini taking practicality to the extreme. The Mini Cooper S got very late in reaching the Indian market and now that it has reached thousands and thousands of people have booked it. Under its skin the Mini Cooper stays true to the original with the cars transverse engine and front wheel drive. Under the hood it has a powerful 1.4 litre 4 cylinder engine which can propel it from 0-100 km/h in just 7.32 seconds and that is only a second slower than the Mrcedes Benz SLK that has a V6 engine.
On the inside’s the cooper s has a decent amount of space and the cabin feels nice and wide, this car seems as it has been made for the winding roads, as the levels of grip that you get are awesome, despite its small size and comparatively low power output it is incredibly fun to drive. Ride comfort however has been compromised as the springs feel stiff and the ride is quite jiggly on unpaved roads. The car is priced in Delhi showrooms at Rs. 28.6 lakhs. Up Too Speed is going to rate this car 9 on 10 as it is extremely fun to drive but could have had a higher comfort level
